Adan Vasquez is a talented multimedia journalist who has experience in the newspaper, magazine, online, and broadcast industries.
Born and raised in the Coachella Valley, Palm Springs area, Adan graduated from La Quinta High School in 2002. He then went on to earn an associates degree from College of the Desert before transferring to California State University, Fullerton, where he majored in Print Journalism.
As a CSUF Titan, Adan wrote and edited for the highly regarded Daily Titan Newspaper, and was assigned the men’s basketball and baseball beat. He also spent time as Sports Editor for a semester, as well as another as copyeditor for Tusk Magazine.
Most recently, Adan ventured into the world of television news, where he interned for Univision Palm Springs (KVER-TV), a Spanish-speaking news station. While there, Adan gained invaluable experience producing and assisting in production of the days news, such as producing scripts, standups, and sports packages. This opportunity has also helped him become stronger in Spanish, his first language, believe it or not. His time there also helped him connect more to the local hispanic community and the issues that matter most to them, such as immigration.
Adan believes that today’s journalist must not concentrate on being good at one particular thing, but rather being great and diverse at numerous trades. This is why experience in both multiple disciplines will serve him well in what he hopes to be a long and meaningful carrer.
